ABOUT US
Background
Helping Hands Therapeutic Services (HH) was established by Dr. Rajendra Lowtan, Mr. Babajide Saba, and Mr. Peter Mwangi LCSW-C in 2015. We consist of an outpatient mental health clinic (outpatient treatment) and a psychiatric rehabilitation program (community integration program). Our license providers utilize evidence-based practices to meet our patient’s needs. We are made of a multidisciplinary team that typically includes a psychiatric medical provider, mental health professionals, and our PRP counselors. We continue to serve hundreds of Maryland residents and their families.
MISSION:
Helping Hands Therapeutic Services exists to empower individuals seeking self-improvement. We seek to provide comprehensive mental health treatment in a non-judgmental way through quality psychiatric services, psychotherapy and community integration programs. It is our desire to provide individualized services for each client we serve until the client has reached their personal level of therapeutic success.
VISION:
Helping Hands Therapeutic Services: Striving to be the leader in authentic mental health treatment by way of our caring staff and comprehensive services. For us, true success is measured by the success of the clients we serve.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
The goals and objectives of the improvement program are to:
- Improve the mental health status of persons served
- Enhance continuity and coordination among our services and primary care providers
- Ensure persons served receive timely and satisfactory service from HH providers
Some primary goals we seek to achieve with our clients are an improvement in family relationships, healthy social interactions and improved work and/or academic performance. We also seek to reduce symptoms of illness and prevent hospitalization.
Research has revealed the complementary relationship between psychiatry and psychotherapy. When medication management is combined with psychotherapy, the persons we serve show greater improvement over aversive symptoms than if these methods are used independently. For this reason, it is our goal to provide quality psychiatric services, psychotherapy and mentoring programs to each client we serve
In keeping with this mission, Helping Hands Therapeutic Services maintains a diverse staff to accommodate the needs of the diverse population of those we serve. Additionally, staff are expected to take necessary measures to provide services to those we serve ensuring that our care is individualized to each person we serve. Helping Hands Therapeutic Services (HH) does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, disability, religion, age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation or other non-medically relevant factors. This applies to admission, treatment, discharge, or other participation in any of HH’s programs, services or activities.
